ABOUT THE FUTURE CREATIVES INITIATIVE 2018

WHY WE ARE DOING THIS

According to Screen Australia, only 21% of Australian Screenwriters are female. We know this percentage would be greater if women were more often granted a seat at the film-industry-table amongst men, as equals.

Taival Films wants to offer a platform for women to share their thoughts and stories through film.

There are already great initiatives around to help female filmmakers forge their careers,
but we believe there is more to be done.

Through the Future Creatives Initiative, we are opening the floor for emerging female screenwriters in Victoria to submit their scripts. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch their ideas in front of a panel of judges within the 2019 February MWFF season, in Melbourne.

WHILE YOU PREPARE YOUR SCRIPT

While you wait for submissions to open, follow us on social media to meet the team working behind the scenes to make this all possible, gain insight into why this initiative is so important and show love for the campaign by sharing it with fellow filmmakers.
Thank you!
Hope to meet you soon.
